   Bandai refuses to make a standard vinyl Ebirah so this is the best Ebirah fans have right now. Unfortunately the best is pretty bad. The detail is fantastic – I can’t fault it there. The claws are posable – also a plus. But it comes in a huge mess of tiny pieces. The legs are tiny and there are eight of them needing to be slotted into eight holes, four on each side. The holes are so close to each other that when you stick in a leg it’s likely the legs next to it will be dislodged by your hand. Some of the legs just refused to fit no matter which hole I attempted to place them in. And should I ever get those legs in perfectly, I’d be too afraid of making it fall apart to play with it. I fear glue will ruin the toy. And I like to play with my toys, not just look at them. So now Ebirah sits, legless and pathetic, on my shelf of Godzilla toys, playable but clearly missing something. If only it didn’t require assembly. If only the legs were all one part. If only Bandai got off their rear and gave Ebirah a proper vinyl figure instead of these silly models.
